Dr.Yeap's Profile

Dr. Yeap Ban Har is presently involved in teacher training at he National Institute of education in Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. He has vast experience with the Singapore curriculum. He has conducted workshops for teachers in Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia the Philippines, Hong Kong, China, United Arab Emirates, Chile, South Africa, Australia and the United States of America.

Ban Har is the author of a series of ten books that uses stories for children to learn mathematics and thinking. He is also the author of a problem-solving book for primary school pupils. He is the consulting author of a series of books for upper primary mathematics under the Oxford Primary Essentials.

He is also the consultant for the secondary mathematics textbooks used in the majority of Singapore schools. He has given several invited lectures at international conferences as well as seminars in foreign universities. He delivered a regular lecture at the last East Asian Regional Conference on Mathematics Education in China in 2005.In Singapore , he delivered a keynote lecture at recent Teachers Conference.

He was recently awarded the Excellence in Teaching Award by his university.
